Featurebase vs Veerify: two tools that put feedback and support together

Andreas F

Most feedback tools stop at the board. Featurebase and Veerify both went further and added a support inbox, for the same reason: the people asking for features are usually the same people emailing support, and keeping those in two products means losing track of one of them.

So the two products overlap a lot. This post is about where they don’t.

We build Veerify. Featurebase is a more mature product with a bigger team, and we say so below where it matters.

What both do

Both give you:

  • Public feedback boards where users post ideas and vote
  • A public roadmap
  • A changelog for release notes
  • An inbox where your team answers customers, assigns conversations and links them to feedback

If that list covers everything you need, you could pick either one and be fine. The decision comes down to four things.

1. Chat or email

Featurebase has live chat. You put a messenger on your site, visitors talk to you in real time, and those conversations go into the inbox along with email. It also has a help center for articles.

Veerify does not have live chat or a help center. Its inbox is built around email, and we went deeper there instead. You connect a domain (Porkbun, Cloudflare, wherever it lives), add the DNS records we show you, and create addresses on it: hello@, support@, billing@, or a catch-all for anything else. Each address is either:

  • Mail: a normal shared mailbox. No auto-replies, no SLAs.
  • Helpdesk: auto-replies, SLA timers, automation rules and satisfaction surveys apply.

Any address can also forward to an outside address, like a founder’s personal inbox, after the recipient confirms it. Replies go out from the address the customer wrote to. Spam is never forwarded.

If your customers expect a chat bubble, choose Featurebase. If your support mostly happens over email, and you would like hello@yourcompany.com to land in the same place as your roadmap, Veerify fits better.

2. Pricing

Featurebase charges per seat. In November 2026 that was $37 a month on Growth, $75 on Professional and $129 on Enterprise when billed monthly, or $29, $59 and $99 a month when billed yearly. The free plan gives you one seat and one board.

For three people on Growth billed yearly, that is $87 a month. For ten people on Professional, it is $590 a month billed yearly, or $750 billed monthly.

Veerify is free while it is in open beta, with unlimited projects and team members. We will charge once the beta ends. We have not published final prices yet, and we would rather say that than make up a number.

3. Open source and self-hosting

Featurebase is a hosted product with data in the Netherlands and Germany. That is a good answer for most European teams.

Veerify is open source under AGPL-3.0. The code is on GitHub, and you can run it yourself with Docker, PostgreSQL and S3-compatible storage. Some teams need that for compliance, some want to read the code before they trust it with customer email, and some simply like knowing they can leave.

One caveat: receiving email on your own domain uses a mail provider behind the scenes. On a self-hosted install you have to set that part up yourself, or run without the email addresses feature.

4. Developer and AI access

Both have APIs. Veerify also has an MCP server, so you can connect Claude Code or another agent with a personal API key and it can do anything you can do in the dashboard, with your permissions and no more. People use it to triage new feedback, draft changelog entries, set up mail addresses and import data from Canny.

Veerify also creates GitHub issues from feedback and marks the feedback complete when the issue closes.

What Featurebase does better

  • Live chat and a help center
  • Surveys
  • A longer track record and more integrations
  • A larger team behind it

What Veerify does better

  • Open source, self-hostable
  • Email addresses on your own domain, with mail and helpdesk behavior per address, forwarding and catch-all
  • An MCP server for AI agents
  • A marketing module that audits your site and tracks how AI assistants recommend you
  • Free during the beta

Our honest take

If you need chat on your website, go with Featurebase. If your support runs on email, you care about owning the code, or the per-seat price adds up for your team, try Veerify. It takes a few minutes to set up a board, and longer to connect a domain because DNS changes need time to spread.
